Welcome to the Social History of the Neutra VDL Compound
Much has been written about the architectural philosophy behind the live-work space that Richard Neutra and his partner and son Dion Neutra designed to accommodate their family and professional lives. This website provides some brief answers to questions you may have about the people who lived, worked and visited here. The concept and design of this site was developed by Professor Eileen V. Wallis of the Department of History of Cal Poly Pomona. It is a cooperative venture with Professor Wallis, her students and Dr. Raymond Richard Neutra who is managing the site. He can be reached at raymondneutra@gmail.com.
